Green tourism and green economy are the highlight topics in national development strategies in many countries now. However, there are only a few studies that investigate the link between green tourism and green economy models. Therefore, we found a research gap about the ways for combining these two development models in a country. Our current study aims to analyse the relationship between green tourism and green economy. The thematic analysis approach, systematic review, and comparative research methodology are applied for decomposing themes in the link between green tourism and green economy and identifying the implications. The results show that some benefits, including economics and environment, are the same between green tourism and green economy. On the other hand, we found that some social benefits of green tourism are not included in the green economy model. Based on the findings, some policy implications are provided for combining the operation of the two development models.
