The influence of pipe repair sleeve size and relevant installation conditions on the girth weld stress was studied by numerical simulation in this work. Results show that the sleeve thickness and length are recommended to be less than 40 mm and more than 500 mm to reduce the Mises stress of the girth weld when the weight of the sleeve is fixed. When the clearance between the sleeve and the outer wall of the pipe varied between 0~5 mm, the Mises stress and axial stress at the girth weld of the pipe changed little. There was no significant stress variation between 0~2 mm misalignment during sleeve installation.
