Patterns of Development and New Trends in Global Crude Oil Trade
摘要
In recent years, the global crude oil trade flow has undergone a profound adjustment. Russia’s crude oil trade undergoes a profound shift; Asia Pacific imports increase, completely replacing Europe, which has seen a decrease in imports; the Red Sea crisis leads to a reversal of trade flows, with trade through the Suez Canal declining sharply; US crude oil exports reach record highs; the economics of Canada’s exports to Asia are increased with the commissioning of new pipelines in Canada; it is difficult to see any growth in Venezuelan crude oil exports, while Guyana becomes a newcomer to the supply of crude oil; the WTI Midland entered into the North Sea Brent pricing, while Europe has seen a significant increase in US crude oil imports; China maintains its position as the world’s largest importer of crude oil, while India becomes the largest buyer of Russian crude. Overall, the international geopolitical situation has entered a period of turbulence, the traditional crude oil supply and demand system saw structural changes, and the global crude oil trade flow has undergone profound adjustments, which brought opportunities and challenges for China’s crude oil resources security and supply. In the face of the complex and severe international trade pattern, it is still an important issue for China to comprehensively build a diversified crude oil resource acquisition pattern, in order to realize the optimal allocation of global crude oil resources, and guarantee energy security.
