This Chapter reviews the progress of China's energy transition since the 14th Five-Year Plan, points out the current problems and future development requirements, and puts forward three targeted policy recommendations on this basis: (1) to develop low-cost natural gas-fired power generation, while increasing the flexibility of the power grid and the proportion of green energy; (2) to build a power trading system that meets the requirements of the new energy system; and (3) to develop green energy technologies to further lead China's industrial technology upgrading.
