Simulating Trust Dynamics in Healthcare Networks: A Multi-agent Game-Theoretic Approach

Efficient electronic medical record sharing in Multicloud environment has a significant role in terms of efficiency and patient care. But there exist certain persistent challenges in quantification and prediction. The study, in this work, tries to attend to the above-mentioned gap by developing a multi-agent, game-theoretic simulation model. The interactions between key healthcare entities like doctors, hospitals, researchers, insurance companies and patients are modelled in this system. Various trust-building strategies through over 1000 iterations are considered to model a simple EMR access system. A trust evolution between every pair of entities is calculated. This is followed by calculation of overall system trust and strategy distribution over time. Utilizing payoff matrix, a model of cooperation and defection is obtained. Results show a complex trust dynamics which gradually stabilized and finally result in equilibrium in healthcare trust network. Visualization result such as trust evolution graph, strategy distribution plots and trust heatmap shows better trends and patterns. These findings help in making better healthcare policy, system design and management of trust in e-healthcare ecosystem. This computational model understands and helps in improve complex social dynamic for effective healthcare delivery.
