The recognition of vehicles, pedestrians, animals, or any other objects on the road after dark is only possible due to the illumination provided by the streetlights. On average, these lights require a significant amount of electricity and must be connected to power lines. Insufficient lighting condition is a major factor that affects road safety. Therefore, the focus of this paper is proposing a new project that will install solar-powered road lights, on a 73 km highway connecting the cities of Jeddah and Makkah, providing an efficient environmentally friendly solution to the safety hazard problem of insufficient lighting on roads.

摘要

The recognition of vehicles, pedestrians, animals, or any other objects on the road after dark is only possible due to the illumination provided by the streetlights. On average, these lights require a significant amount of electricity and must be connected to power lines. Insufficient lighting condition is a major factor that affects road safety. Therefore, the focus of this paper is proposing a new project that will install solar-powered road lights, on a 73 km highway connecting the cities of Jeddah and Makkah, providing an efficient environmentally friendly solution to the safety hazard problem of insufficient lighting on roads.
