This article analyzes the recyclable waste collection activities in reverse logistics towards a circular economy for consumers/companies (recyclable item owners) and recyclable item collectors in Hanoi from January to March 2024. The study focuses on informal/formal collectors (individuals or organizations) and the motivating factors that help improve current and future collection efficiency. The study also built a map of influencing factors. It used the EFA testing method, surveying 153 people (recyclable item owners and recyclable item collectors) to find a group of factors considered to have an impact on promoting collection scale (CS) with the characteristics of large urban areas in a developed country like Hanoi. Besides that, the study also evaluates the impact of the collection scale on the economic efficiency (EE) of this activity by Profit Index (PI). The research found a new group of factors suitable for the characteristics of this activity in Hanoi during the survey period, which is the group of factors related to information and information connection. From there, the study proposed several solution groups for collection activities. In addition, the study found a relationship between the collection scale and the economic efficiency of 60 collection units and made some recommendations.
