Investigation of Holographic Metasurface for Beam-Steering Applications
摘要
Beam steering is important for modern communications systems, allowing control of the beam direction without the physical movement of the antenna. For advanced beam steering applications, a holographic metasurface is designed in the paper. The device consists of a rectangular integrated impedance surface that radiates the desired beam, where the beam direction is controlled by a varactor diode by varying the surface impedance. The device with the varactor diode achieved a high gain of 16.8 dBi with a beam steering range of \({11}^{\circ }\) . This capability is important for applications such as autonomous vehicles, payment centers, efficient connections, and satellite communications, where precise and tunable signal orientation is required.
