Evaluation of Seepage Barrier Ability of Interlayer with Different Lithology and Influence on Remaining Oil Distribution

Dong-he sandstone reservoir in Hudson Oilfield is a Marine reservoir with multiple stages and interbeds of complicated origin. Under the action of edge and bottom water and injection water, the migration relationship between oil and water is complicated, and the distribution law of remaining oil is unclear. Based on the sedimentary characteristics of Dong-he sandstone reservoir and the formation mechanism of intercalation, it is determined that the intercalation of Dong-he sandstone reservoir can be divided into calcareous, argillaceous and calcareous types by using core scale logging, in which the permeability of argillaceous intercalates is the lowest, calcareous intercalates are the second and calcareous intercalates are the best. Under the control of stratigraphic framework, the thickness and plane distribution range of the interlayer are accurately characterized by high resolution processing of logging data. According to the physical properties, thickness and development continuity of different lithologic compartments, the evaluation criteria of seepage barrier capability of the compartments were established. Combined with the production dynamic analysis, the remaining oil distribution rule under the control of different compartments was clearly defined. Based on the above understanding, the technical countermeasures for late adjustment of deep Marine sandstone water flooding are formulated, and targeted adjustment measures are put forward to tap potential remaining oil and effectively promote the high-benefit development of oil and gas reservoirs.
