This article focuses on key performance indicators such as efficiency, Scalability, cost, and ease of deployment for cloud ERP and on-premises SAP systems in large enterprises and conducts comprehensive comparative analysis. With the growing demand for scalable and flexible solutions in large enterprises, the distinction between these two ERP systems is critical. The purpose of this research is to analyze how cloud ERPs with a pay-per-use model and real-time global access compare to on-premises SAP systems. Methods include case studies, interviews, and qualitative and quantitative analysis using performance benchmarks. Companies were selected from industries such as manufacturing, finance, and healthcare, and various use cases were secured. Key findings show that while cloud ERP systems provide excellent Scalability and low initial costs, on-premises SAP provides unparalleled control and long-term cost predictability, although with scalability challenges. This survey also explores suggestions for corporate decision-makers, especially those who are promoting digital transformation.
