In modern Chinese, there is a kind of word with contradictory meaning, which causes difficulties for Chinese teaching at home and abroad. In this paper, the characters with contradictory meanings of “乖 guāi”, “爽 shuǎng” and “乖爽 guāi shuǎng” are taken as examples, and the statistical research is carried out by using big data statistical method. The results show that the emergence of the contradictory meanings of words is closely related to the development of social history and culture, and the turning meaning of the contradictory meanings has become a widely used meaning today.
