Water is an indispensable resource all living organisms need to survive in the natural world. Although it is an essential element of the ecological environment, its scarcity and ecological significance have not received sufficient attention in recent years. Beginning with the Reform and Opening Up, with China's rapid industrialization and urbanization, secondary and tertiary industries were concentrated in highly populated city centers and their surroundings. Large amounts of untreated industrial sewage and household sewage were directly discharged into the local bodies of water, contaminating these bodies.
