Construction Materials’ Inventory for Life Cycle Assessment in the African Context: Moroccan Case
摘要
Morocco’s construction sector significantly contributes to energy consumption, emphasizing the necessity for enhanced traceability to gauge its environmental impact accurately. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) offers a valuable tool for quantifying the environmental footprint of buildings and optimizing resource utilization. This study aims to trace the inventory of materials commonly used in Moroccan construction and their impact using Life Cycle Assessment. It aims to create a database for materials inventory that helps future researchers to assess the buildings in the region. Additionally, the limited availability of published Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) specific to Morocco underscores the reliance on approximative calculations based on EPDs from neighboring countries. However, this approximative approach may lack precision when applied to the unique context of Morocco.
