Perspective of Using Alkalization in Natural Fiber Composites: Bibliometrics Literature Review
摘要
The natural fiber is one of the alternative materials whose amount of availability is abundant and can be used for various products that have many advantages. However, to be able to make natural fibers a good material, it must require special treatment to obtain high fiber quality. One such treatment is alkaline treatment. Alkaline treatment (Alkalization) has advantages including being able to remove part of the content of lignin, hemicellulose, and residues where the content can reduce the mechanical strength of natural fibers. The purpose of this study is to present a bibliometric analysis of alkalization on natural fiber composites with a database from Scopus. The results showed that the number of publications between 2001 and 2022 had an increasing trend. In line with the increasing trend, several relevant sources are at the top of the list, such as polymer composites, journals of natural fibers, and journals of applied polymer science. Meanwhile, India and Malaysia are the leading countries in conducting research related to this topic with the highest number of publications and citations.
