Since the carbon absorbed during plant growth balances out the carbon released during combustion, the generation of biomass bioenergy has no discernible impact on CO2 emissions. Biofuels, biomass, and biogas represent examples of renewable energy sources that are currently being transformed. Examples of biomass that can be converted into biogas include animal excrement and agricultural waste that has undergone controlled anaerobic decomposition. The anaerobic decomposition of agricultural waste and animal manure are two examples of biomass that can be transformed into biogas.
