The concept of “microplastics” describes small fragments of plastic that have become a major concern for marine ecosystems, a sign of the worldwide influence of human activity. These particles, which are considered to be a risk to spacecraft borders, are produced when bigger plastic objects break down and transform into nanoplastics (NPs), which impact different ecosystems. The manufacture of plastics is expanding at a rapid rate worldwide, particularly in developing countries. This is a complicated issue that interacts with other environmental issues including carbon emissions and waste disposal. Trade has shifted as countries such as China are bringing electronics into the pollution narrative, which is gaining traction because of import limitations and the potential need to modify international waste management practices (Herat and Agamuthu 2012). A significant amount of microplastics can be associated with electronic waste. The improper handling and disposal of electronic devices, which frequently occur in developing countries that serve as landfills, causes mechanical degradation that leads to the accumulation of microplastics along with heavy metals and other dangerous materials, deteriorating the issue and making the area contaminated. An interdisciplinary strategy is needed to address the issue of microplastic pollution and to lessen its negative effects. This will help to promote an integrated effort toward sustainable environmental well-being (Awasthi and Li 2017). Globally, the amount of electronic waste has increased significantly as a result of technological innovation.
