Groundwater plays a significant role in providing sustenance of living system. The amount of precipitation determines the recharge of groundwater level and the soil moisture for agricultural crop production. Climate change has created a situation where the precipitation is becoming highly irregular and mostly the rainfall is occurring with high intensity for a short duration which is not a helpful process for groundwater recharge. In this regard, a detailed study of 638 wells has been carried out in Odisha having 3 types of wells, i.e., Dug Wells (DW), Bore Wells (BW) and Tube Wells (TW). To know the behavior of groundwater level more precisely, data of these wells are analyzed by divided into two categories such as (i) dug wells (which include 330 wells) (ii) bore wells, and tube wells (which include 308 wells). Using 20 years of four seasons of groundwater level data, basic statistics are estimated and analyzed. Arc-GIS software is used to develop spatio-temporal maps to represent how these parameters are behaving in 638 wells of four different seasons. The result of this study gives an idea about the space and time variation of groundwater level and its associated statistical parameters of wells in four different seasons for the entire Odisha.

摘要
