Advantages and Bottlenecks of Conventional Coating Fabrication Technology
摘要
In order for zirconium cladding coatings to provide effective protection under accidental working conditions, the coating surface must be uniform, dense, and have good resistance to high-temperature oxidation. It is particularly important to control the coating properties through the use of different deposition techniques. This chapter discusses the application of various coating technologies such as cold spraying, magnetron sputtering, arc ion plating, and laser surface modification in the preparation of coatings. It highlights the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies, as well as directions for future research. Compared with other coating preparation techniques, magnetron sputtering has been widely used in the preparation of zirconium alloy cladding coatings due to its wide range of target material selection, small workpiece deformation, controllable deposition rate, good process repeatability, and many other advantages, and has been widely used in industrial applications.
