The Impact of a New Cybersecurity Reporting Tool on Technical Debt Management and Cybersecurity
摘要
Cybersecurity teams often struggle with inefficient and error-prone manual processes for vulnerability reporting, resulting in delays, increased costs, and compromised report quality. This study addresses these issues by introducing an innovative tool designed to automate and streamline vulnerability reporting. The tool tackles key challenges such as lack of standardization, incomplete documentation, outdated information, and slow patch management. Through an extensive impact study, expert interviews, and a satisfaction survey, we evaluate the tool’s effectiveness. The findings reveal substantial improvements: collaboration time reduced by 82.5%, patching time cut by 50%, and reporting time decreased by 70%. Additionally, team satisfaction with the reporting phase increased from 10 to 70%, with burnout rates dropping significantly. This tool not only enhances cybersecurity workflows but also improves overall security posture, marking a significant advancement in cybersecurity operations.
