LHC searches for vector-like quarks have primarily focused on decays into Standard Model particles. However, several new physics models predict additional scalars, enabling decays into new channels, which reduce Standard Model branching ratios and impact mass bounds. In this talk, we review the post-Moriond 2024 status of these models, examining single and pair production of vector-like quarks with decays to both standard and exotic final states. We discuss the impact of large widths, exotic decay channels, and outline future strategies to expand vector-like quark searches.

摘要

LHC searches for vector-like quarks have primarily focused on decays into Standard Model particles. However, several new physics models predict additional scalars, enabling decays into new channels, which reduce Standard Model branching ratios and impact mass bounds. In this talk, we review the post-Moriond 2024 status of these models, examining single and pair production of vector-like quarks with decays to both standard and exotic final states. We discuss the impact of large widths, exotic decay channels, and outline future strategies to expand vector-like quark searches.
