With the completion of the 3GPP Release 17 standard in June 2022, the introduction of 5G NR Reduced Capability (RedCap) has gained significant attention. RedCap aims to reduce the cost of user equipment (UE) by minimizing bandwidth, antenna count, and modulation/demodulation techniques. This study proposed two test scenarios which are laboratory testing and live network base station testing, aim to verify RedCap network performance from the redcap wireless data terminal perspective. Massive testing data sets are used by Python to do the data clean and aggregation. To sum up, due to the influence of modulation, MCS, TBS and other parameters, the research results have found two optimal performance bands: one is the theoretical optimal value validation in the laboratory environment, and the other is the optimal value validation in the current network environment especially in rural and urban areas.
