Consciousness and Mind in Sāṃkhya and Yoga
摘要
This lecture, inspired by an online Lecture at the Indian Institute of Technology on invitation by Ranjan Kumar Panda, is focused on the distinction and the strict bound between Consciousness and Mind, as it can be viewed through two relevant sources of sāmkhyadarśana and yogadarśana, namely the Saṃkhyakārikā by Īśvarakṛṣṇa (SK) and the Yogasūtra by Patañjali (YS), perused at the light of some of the more relevant commentaries thereon, first of all Vyāsa’s commentary on Yogasūtra. The relevant passages being discussed are as follows: SK 19–22; 37; 61; 66; YS 1.3–4; 1.16; 2.6; 2.17–21; 2.25–27; 4.19; 4.22–26.
