Securing the Vote: Exploring the Potential of Blockchain-Based e-Voting System
摘要
Electronic voting was regarded to be less trustworthy than traditional paper ballot voting because anybody with physical access to the voting equipment may interfere with it and modify the results. Furthermore, a centralized system is required to oversee the whole process—from electronic voting through election outcomes to tracking results. Voters are not completely protected since they may be readily targeted. Furthermore, it endangers openness and the freedom to vote. Blockchain has become an attractive technology for many applications because to its special properties that surpass other technologies, and it is utilized in this research to give a solution for reducing hassles from old methods. The intention of this study is to leverage peer-to-peer network technology to establish an electronic voting system that operates in a decentralized manner, free from control by any central authority, and guarantees secure voter identity, private data transfer, and transparency through an open and verifiable voting process. This differs from conventional centralized electronic voting systems, which may not ensure these aspects.
