A Robust Framework for Internet of Things Harmonization in Critical Infrastructure
摘要
In the era of artificial intelligence (AI) the internet of things (IoT) is revolutionizing system automation across various industries specially in critical infrastructure like power plant, data center, telecommunication, transportation system, etc., by enabling communication among devices. IoT devices play a crucial role in efficiency, safety, reliability enhancement by monitoring and controlling the overall process flow. For accomplishment, these application oriented IoT devices heavily depend on cloud resources. Core functionalities and basic control of the system become haphazard when cloud resources are unavailable or communication with the cloud service provider is interrupted. In any critical infrastructure this is undesirable. So, dependency on cloud resources for IoT harmonization in critical infrastructure should be as minimum as possible. In this paper, we have proposed a framework for IoT harmonization where devices will interact using constrained application protocol over localized wireless mesh network that will safeguard desired outcome in case of unavailability of cloud resources. MAC binding and static IP address will inherently ensure confidentiality and integrity of the communication. We have implemented the proposed system in a data center with promising outcome in terms of latency and response time. Our proposed system can reduce cloud usage thus minimize cost.
