Deep, ultra-deep and unconventional oil and gas exploration and development have become important areas of increased storage and production in China. In recent years, tackling key problems, people have refreshed the well depth record continuously which has reached 10,000 m. However, it faces a series of problems and challenges in deep earth drilling rig and supporting equipment, high temperature resistant downhole dynamic drilling tool technology, high temperature resistant drilling fluid, cementing technology and equipment, high temperature resistant downhole measurement and control technology, and high strength oil well pipe technology. This paper summarizes the main technologies and experience enlightenments used in deep drilling domestically and abroad, systematically analyzes the progress and existing problems of advanced drilling and completion technologies applicable to deep drilling projects domestically and abroad, and puts forward measures and suggestions for the development of deep drilling engineering technology and equipment industry. So as to accelerate the development of modern deep drilling engineering technology and equipment industry system.
