The proliferation of micro fractures in concrete can weaken the material, making it more susceptible to brittle fracture. It is crucial to identify the nature and behavior of internal micro fractures in concrete to ensure the safety and dependability of structures. The incorporation of minuscule, closely positioned, and uniformly dispersed fibers into concrete serves as a mechanism to impede fractures and substantially enhances the static and dynamic properties of the substance. This study outlines the reinforcement of fly-ash based concrete with inclusion of two types of fibers. In the current experimental study, the ordinary Portland cement (OPC) was substituted with fly ash at different ratios of 30% and 50% in order to utilize this waste material and decline in strength was observed. Hence, reinforcement was done by using polypropylene and jute fibers at proportions of 0.25% and 0.50% in different sets and improvement in strength and durability was observed. Thus, fibers can be used for beneficial reinforcement of fly-ash based concrete to yield enhanced properties.

摘要
