Wind Interference Effect on Closely Spaced Rectangular Buildings with Sky Bridges
摘要
The study is on the interference effect on two rectangular plan-shaped tall buildings having identical geometry connected through sky bridges. Different cases have been taken and assessed based on the various position of bridges, i.e., bridges at 0.33H and 0.67H (Model X), bridges at 0.25H and 0.75H(Model Y) and bridges at 0.75H and 0.9H(Model Z) where H is heights of the buildings then compared with the isolated condition that is, same buildings without any bridge. The analysis is performed using computational fluid dynamics, namely ANSYS CFX with RANS turbulence model for a wind incident angle (WIA) of 0° only. This study helps to understand the effects due to the presence of bridges in terms of pressure coefficient at different faces and interference factor with respect to isolated conditions. The study shows that bridges at the higher height have more mean pressure (positive or negative) as compared to the lower one and model Z is showing the critical case.
