Terahertz communication technology is a key development direction for future communication systems. The approaches to realizing terahertz communication are primarily categorized into three: photonic, photon-assisted, and full electronic. The full electronic approach to terahertz communication technology is widely recognized for its advantages, including high integration and high transmission power. Among the various modulation techniques, phase modulation, which uses phase information for modulation, can effectively enhance spectral efficiency and reduce the bit error rate. This paper reviews the research progress on phase modulation technology within the full electronic terahertz communication sector, highlighting some significant advancements made to date.
