IOT-Based Home Automation: Privacy and Security Challenges
摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) has changed home automation, providing with more conveniences and efficiency. Internet of Things connects smart devices to each other. This connection allows for advanced communication between devices, with remote control and convenience through smart home system. However, with this convenience comes a big concern about privacy and security. This paper highlights vulnerabilities like data breaches, weak encryption mechanism, and unauthorized access. The research methodology targets on strategies like network separation and location-based authentication. The proposed solution contains dual-band Wi-Fi strategy to separate secure devices from IoT appliances and advanced geological authentication control smart devices’ access based on user location. By adopting these techniques, the paper highlights the potential to improve home security, reduce cyberattack, and protect user privacy. Furthermore, the paper indicates these strategies for long-term scalability, compatibility with previous existing systems.
