In the existing research, the role of high-pressure accumulators in recovering return flow, achieving peak oil compensation, and maintaining smooth operating pressure has been well explained. However, there is still insufficient research on whether the flow at the inlet port remains relatively constant, why high-pressure accumulators do not have as significant an effect on the impact energy as expected, and why they have little effect on the impact frequency. In this chapter, we will focus on studying the variation of the flow at the inlet port of the hydraulic impact mechanism and explore these issues in-depth. Earlier sections have dedicated considerable space to describing compensation flows generated by oil compression and hose expansion, which serves as theoretical preparation for the analysis in this chapter.
