One of the major global concerns linked to climate change are those that reflect on world food security. Food production is intrinsically linked to specific climate, vegetation and temperature conditions—once these conditions change, the food supply is affected. Phenomena such as severe droughts or floods have impacted the entire world, but more strongly in countries with less relative development because their response options are scarcer due to lack of resources. Among the ways of solving the problems generated by climate change in food production is the planting of native seeds that adapt to different types of vegetation, which also help to increase the diversity of the food supply. In this chapter, we argued that conservation and planting of native seeds is a strategy that is opposed to the homogenization of the food produced by modern agriculture which makes your use to be way more limited than it should be.
