Metabolomics, the comprehensive study of metabolites within biological systems, has become a powerful tool for elucidating the mechanisms of metal toxicity and developing mitigation strategies. This study examines recent advancements in the application of metabolomics to understand the biochemical impacts of metal exposure such as arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and mercury (Hg) on various organisms. By analyzing metabolic profiles, researchers can identify specific biomarkers and disrupted pathways associated with metal-induced toxicity. These insights facilitate the development of targeted interventions to mitigate adverse effects. The combination of metabolomics with other omics technologies to increase the accuracy of toxicity assessments and to better understand the mechanisms underlying metal toxicity is discussed here. Furthermore, it highlights the role of metabolomics in identifying potential therapeutic agents and dietary strategies to counteract metal toxicity. Findings from recent studies emphasize the potential of metabolomics to transform various approaches to managing metal toxicity in both environmental and clinical contexts.

摘要
