Thread lifting is a minimally invasive surgical technique performed similarly to filler injections, using a blind technique that does not allow direct visualization of the internal structures. Occasionally, during the procedure, when the surgeon uses their fingers to estimate the thickness of the tissue in the patient’s mouth and face, they may realize that the facial tissue is thinner than expected. There are various layers within this thin tissue, and accurately inserting threads into these layers can be quite challenging, leading to unexpected complications (Fig. 6.1).
