Changes in the Face Related to Aging Process
摘要
Patients seeking lifting procedures for antiaging share a common belief: as they age, their tissues sag, making them look older, and they think that lifting can rejuvenate them or restore their youthful appearance. This belief is partially correct and partially incorrect. The changes in the face due to aging result from a complex interplay of various factors. It is not just the sagging of tissues; the reduction of fat volume and bone resorption also contribute to changes in the facial framework, which organically affects facial aging. Lifting can only achieve the effect of elevating sagging tissues. Therefore, it is important to understand in detail the changes that occur in the face as one ages to know what effects can be achieved through lifting, what limitations exist, and what additional procedures can lead to better results (Fig. 2.1).
