CT Protocols
摘要
Computed tomography is a versatile imaging technique frequently used for the purpose of detection, diagnosis and management of pathologies hidden within the confines of the body. When setting up a protocol, the clinical indication for scanning is the first thing to know. The technician as well as the radiologist must go through the clinical data, the previous records, if any and if need be, have a discussion with the referring clinician prior to scanning. The information gathered should enable choosing from the available protocols and modifying or planning a suitable study for that patient. The scan parameters should be fed into the console on the workstation and everything should be in place before the patient is wheeled into the gantry room. In this chapter, we will look at some of the parameters and protocols available in order to perform a high-quality CT scan.
