Introduction to AI in Agriculture
摘要
Agriculture being the foundation for sustainability of every developing economy. It can significantly influence economic growth in long-term and core restructuring; however, extent of this impact may vary across various countries. Around 30.70% of global population employed in agriculture and depends on 2781 million hectares of agricultural area for their sustenance. This endeavor encounters several obstacles in agriculture from planting to reaping. The primary concerns involve climate change, resource shortages, disease management, and market fluctuations. Numerous methods have been suggested to tackle agricultural problems, including the use of databases and decision-making tools. The use of computers in agriculture is one of them which was first documented in 1983. Among these solutions, AI-based systems demonstrated the best levels of accuracy and robustness. Artificial Intelligence integration into agriculture is emerging as a disruptive solution that has the potential to revolutionize existing processes by enhancing accuracy and efficiency. This chapter conducts a comprehensive analysis of worldwide literature to explore the ways in which AI-driven technologies have improved precision farming, disease control, and crop monitoring. This chapter seek to educate various stakeholders on the advantages and practical consequences of AI, hence facilitating the development of a more resilient and efficient agriculture.
