Designing Inclusive Learning Environments: A Review on Addressing Learning Disabilities and Teaching Methodologies
摘要
Learning disability is a neurological disorder that affects an individual’s ability to process and understand information. It can affect various aspects of learning, including literacy, writing, mathematics, and thinking. These aspects are not a measure of a child’s intelligence; children with learning disabilities are either average or above average in terms of intellectual ability, but they often struggle with certain cognitive activities. Identifying a learning disability early is essential for planning the right education to help the learner overcome the disability. Learning should be purposeful and meaningful. It is essential to develop methodologies and frameworks to make children learn in an interesting manner. This study reviews learning disability, types and definitions, and discusses in depth about methods for creative exploration of teaching and interaction methods while dealing with specially abled children. The paper summarizes into design directions that may be explored for educating various types of specially abled children.
