An investigation of initial response of the drop when interacted with shock wave is presented. The morphology of the drop changes when it get interacted with the shock, This evolving morphology is captured using direct high speed photography technique. As the drop structure changes the shape of the windward face changes which causes the drop to attain motion in the direction of flow. The drifting of drop in stream direction ( \(x_c\) ) and transverse direction ( \(y_c\) ) has been traced. The motion of the drop has been characterized by the drag and further it is related to its aspect ratio. The increasing initial drag coefficient has been obtained with respect to the increasing Weber number.
