Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a viable solution for future wireless communication systems because of its improved spectral efficiency and user fairness over standard orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques. This paper explores the performance of downlink NOMA in a single-input and single-output (SISO) configuration with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and different digital modulation schemes. It discusses the effectiveness of successive interference cancellation (SIC) techniques for decoding multiple superimposed signals with Rayleigh fading channels. The simulations discuss the advantages of the different modulation schemes for downlink NOMA communication systems with SISO-OFDM regarding bit error rate (BER) and sum-rate performances.

摘要
