Statistical Analysis of the Academic Performance of College-Bound Students
摘要
This study investigates the academic performance in mathematics of incoming university students at the Technical University of Cotopaxi. A survey methodology was used to assess the knowledge of engineering students in fundamental topics such as algebra and geometry. The results indicate significant deficiencies in basic concepts, with less than 60% correct in key areas. This diagnosis suggests the need to implement educational strategies to improve students’ learning and preparation for academic rigors, especially in mathematics, a critical pillar for their future careers in engineering.
