Determination of Safety Factor Thresholds for Slopes Caused by Rainfall Impact on the Railway

One of the variables that can risk the safety of train travel is the presence of environmental conditions in areas along the train track that are susceptible to landslides. In order to ensure the safety of train travel in areas susceptible to landslides, it is necessary to conduct monitoring activities. The objective of this study is to determine the correlation between the impact of rainfall and infiltration on the reduction of Safety Factor values in slopes adjacent to railway tracks. The places surveyed in this study were KM 76+550 to KM 77+100 in operational area 2 Bandung. This study utilizes drilling data and laboratory test results to input soil properties. Meanwhile, the rain data for the year 2021 was obtained from the Citeko Meteorological Station. This study employed a linear regression model to determine the correlation between rainfall and the value of the safety factor. The research findings indicate that the Safety Factor value decreases as the groundwater level rises, a phenomenon affected by heavy rainfall and high infiltration rates. The linear relationship obtained where Y is the safety factor value, and X represents the height of the rain. The research is constrained due to the sampling of only two places. Additional locations must be included in the modeling process to derive a formula that accurately represents railway line segments. In order to enhance the accuracy of the acquired data, it is imperative to conduct infiltration surveys and water level checks in the future.
