Inequality in Resources Allocation for Compulsory Education
摘要
China has made impressive achievements in the education sector since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, and the accessibility of the nine-year compulsory education has been a focus of China’s education policies in the past two decades. However, the efforts of making such education universally available, especially among rural populations, were met with challenges. The two major obstacles, the unbalanced allocation of resources and financial strains in underdeveloped rural regions are closely linked to the funding system of compulsory education.
