The Impact of Education on the Income of Different Social Groups
摘要
At the beginning of twenty-first century, the income gap in China continues to widen. Data published in 2005 by the United Nations Development Program indicates that China’s Gini index in 2002 had reached 0.45 (UNDP, China Human Development Report 2005. China Development Research Foundation, 2005). As shown by the experience of many countries and regions, a society would be rife with conflicts when the GDP per capita is growing from US$1000 to US$3000, which is the phase China is currently in.
