Based on the development of foreign Mars exploration, the history and the development phase of foreign Mars exploration is researched, and the current Mars exploration technology capabilities is compared by countries. The latest developments of Mars exploration of major space countries including the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan, and India are analyzed. The planned Mars exploration missions including ExoMars 2022, MMX, EscaPADE, Mangalyaan-2, I-MIM, MSR are studied. Finally, Combined with the characteristics and trends of foreign Mars exploration, suggestions are put forward for follow-up Mars exploration.
