The inheritance pattern of the X chromosome is sex-specific. X-STRs markers play a crucial role in various fields, including forensic genetics, population studies, and kinship analysis. Apart from the commercially available kits, additional X-STR markers are added in the in-house customized multiplex kits to increase the power of discrimination among individuals proportionately. The complexity of X chromosome inheritance, high heterozygosity, and unique recombination patterns present challenges in their analysis and interpretation. Therefore, research focused on understanding mutation rates, haplotype frequency distributions, LD, and gaining a deeper understanding of the complex inheritance patterns of the X chromosome are necessary to be developed and incorporated for the emergence of new markers.

摘要
