We’re almost done with our first story. Now we’re back to where the story started: Why is the church of Francis of Assisi facing east? Located on a hill west of the city of Assisi, the church was the site of the execution of prisoners, commonly known as “Hell’s Hill”, similar to the crucifixion of Jesus at “Golgotha”, meaning “Skeleton Land”.
