The textile dyes can cause acute environmental issues for aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Moreover, they cause surface water contamination and accumulation of toxic and carcinogenic substances. Several physicochemical or biological methods can be used to remove dyes from dye-containing waste water. These methods should be efficient, cheap, user-friendly, and using low-cost adsorbents. As inorganic adsorbents, apatites are widely used thanks to their high adsorption capacity and their availability. And for organic adsorbent, Posidonia is considered as one of the most common used adsorbents due to its local availability in the Mediterranean, and it is used as renewable biological adsorbent.
