The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in education offers great promise to aid children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by developing engagement, communication, and skill development. Experiences and perspectives of professionals and caregivers regarding the usability and effectiveness of these tools are reported in this study. Data were collected from 41 respondents, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and educators, using a qualitative descriptive methodology. The results indicate a number of positive effects, including enhanced engagement, social skills, and self-confidence in autistic children. However, the groups highlighted challenges, including inconsistent user experiences and concerns around long-term skill retention. Since ASD is a broad range of disorders with varying levels of severity and symptoms, the study provides key insight into the need for interactivity, Personalization, and Accessibility, in catering to the divergent needs of those diagnosed with ASD. Subsequent studies shall consider long-term follow-up; enhance social competencies, as well as proliferate applications. Only then shall the utility of such systems be maximized. Indeed, technology-based tools, developed in collaboration with stakeholders, could make a positive difference in fostering inclusive educational settings for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
