Climate change states long-term shifts in temperature and weather patterns due to global warming chiefly caused by a disbalance in atmospheric greenhouse gaseous (GHGs) such as carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor, methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (NOx), and CFC. Climate scientists have claimed that human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels (coal, petroleum and gases), deforestation etc. generate GHGs that trap the Sun’s heat and increase the temperature. The evidence of climate change has been observed through the temperature rise, variation in rainfall, drought, and flood patterns, increasing sea levels, desertification, landslides etc. are the main causes. In recent years various technologies have been initiated especially for the use of renewable energy sources, that reduces pollution from the environment and helps in climate change. This article reviews the recent renewable energy sources that are clean, accessible, sustainable, and reliable and will drastically cut down CO2 emissions in the environment. We discuss recent technologies like plant growth system through soilless culture, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence in renewable resources and ocean energy converters, that play a crucial role in combating climate change. On the other hand, we also discuss some green technologies like transparent solar cells, panels and biohybrid chandeliers as emerging tools for sustainable development and climate control.
