The Third-Generation Blockchain Technique has been widely adopted in large amounts of applications, due to its better performance compared to traditional Proof-of-Work mechanisms. However, few practitioners focus on water, which is one of the most important resources for people and has been largely wasted due to lack of properties like transparency, trust, and bad management. Hence, in this paper, we introduce our new application: Water Ledger, which is built based on web3 techniques and aims to solve the problems above. Water Ledger utilizes blockchain technology, specifically the innovative ERC3525 semi-fungible token standard, to create a transparent, efficient, and user-centric platform for water resource accounting, management and trading. This paper presents the architecture of Water Ledger, its implementation of ERC3525 tokens for water rights accounting and management. Our findings suggest that Water Ledger has the potential to revolutionize water resource management by enhancing transparency, improving efficiency, and empowering individual water users.

摘要
